GreenCloud was set up in October 2013 by a team that had already spent years designing websites and hosting them for local businesses. The founders needed a VPS with moderate RAM and strong CPU power, could not find one at a fair price, and decided to build it themselves. At the time of the LowEndBox interview, GreenCloud’s first three employees were still on the team, and most new staff joined through referrals from people who already worked there.
