XEvil Standalone: How to Install and Update to XEvil 7 (2026)

In July 2022 BotMaster Labs released XEvil 6.0 Beta-1, the first version of XEvil that could run without XRumer. That was good news for GSA Search Engine Ranker users and anyone else who had bought XRumer only to get XEvil.

Four years later the picture has moved on. XEvil 7.0 is now in beta, the way you authorise it has changed, and support for some captcha types has come and gone. I updated this guide in October 2026 to cover both the XEvil 6 standalone setup and the update to XEvil 7.

What is XEvil standalone?

XEvil is a captcha-solving program from BotMaster Labs, the company behind XRumer. Until version 6 it only ran together with XRumer, so you had to own XRumer to use it.

Since XEvil 6.0 you can run it on its own. It sits on your server and answers captcha requests from your SEO tools, including GSA Search Engine Ranker, through the same API format that paid captcha services use. XEvil is also still included with XRumer Standard and Business.

XEvil 7.0 Beta-3 added a captcha trainer and made reCAPTCHA v2 solving 30 to 50% faster, according to BotMaster Labs. Because it is still a beta, keep your working XEvil 6 folder until you are happy with version 7.

How do you update from XEvil 6 to XEvil 7?

BotMaster Labs ships XEvil 7 as an update patch for XEvil 6, not as a separate installer. These are the steps from their 7.0 announcement:

1. Make sure your XEvil 6 is on version 6.0.77.
2. Log in to your BotMaster Labs account and download the XEvil 7.0 update patch.
3. Copy your complete XEvil 6.0.77 folder to a new folder, for example \XEvil7\. Keep the original folder as a backup.
4. Unpack the 7.0 patch into the new folder and choose to replace all files.
5. Start XAuth 3.0.3 (or XRumer 23) and log in, as described below.
6. Start XEvil 7 from the new folder.

If you are coming from XEvil 5 or an early XEvil 6 beta, update to 6.0.77 first through your BotMaster Labs account, then follow the steps above.

How does XEvil authorisation work without XRumer?

When XEvil runs on its own, a small app called XAuth handles the licence check.

1. Download XAuth from the downloads section of your BotMaster Labs account. XEvil 7 needs XAuth 3.0.3. XEvil 6 used XAuth 2.0.
2. Install XAuth on the same VPS or server where XEvil runs.
3. Start XAuth and log in with your BotMaster Labs account details. It authorises the server and shows how many instances are running on your account.
4. Start XEvil. It connects through XAuth.

If you run XEvil together with XRumer, you do not need XAuth, because XRumer handles the authorisation. For XEvil 7 that means XRumer 23. BotMaster Labs says XRumer 19 support for XEvil 7 is still to come, so XRumer 19 users need XAuth for now.

Which captchas can XEvil solve in 2026?

• More than 8,400 types of image captcha
• reCAPTCHA v2, in token mode and image grid mode
• reCAPTCHA v3
• Cloudflare Turnstile, as a separate subscription module that is still at an early stage
• VK Slider

Yandex SmartCaptcha and GeeTest are listed by BotMaster Labs as being prepared, so do not count on them yet. FunCaptcha (Arkose) support was stopped.

What happened to hCaptcha?

hCaptcha was one of the headline features of XEvil 6 in 2022. In December 2024 BotMaster Labs announced that it had stopped hCaptcha support completely. In the XEvil 7.0 betas an hCaptcha module came back, but only for 3×3 image tasks and as a paid subscription module. If hCaptcha matters to your campaigns, test it on your own targets before you rely on it.

Which proxies does XEvil need?

XEvil uses proxies to fetch and solve captchas without getting your server IP blocked. Since XEvil 6 you can keep separate proxy lists for reCAPTCHA and hCaptcha with the RC and HC buttons at the top of the [R/H] module.

• reCAPTCHA v2: works with regular IPv4 and IPv6 proxies. Our Proxies IPv6 XEvil are built for this.
• reCAPTCHA v3: the score depends on proxy quality. BotMaster Labs recommends high-quality residential proxies.
• Cloudflare Turnstile: BotMaster Labs advises no more than 5 to 8 threads.

API key check

If XEvil is set to listen on your external IP, it turns on API key checking automatically, so nobody else can send captchas to your copy. If your tools run on the same server and connect to 127.0.0.1, no API key is needed. When XEvil 6 first came out there was no switch to turn the external-IP key check off.

Can you use XEvil with GSA Search Engine Ranker?

Yes. BotMaster Labs lists GSA Search Engine Ranker as compatible. XEvil copies the API format of services such as 2Captcha, RuCaptcha and Anti-Captcha, so GSA SER sends captchas to XEvil as if it were one of those services, and XEvil answers locally.

Does XEvil still work without XRumer?

Yes. XEvil has run standalone since version 6.0 in July 2022, and BotMaster Labs still sells a standalone version in 2026. You authorise it with the XAuth app on the same server instead of through XRumer.

What is the latest version of XEvil?

XEvil 7.0, which was in its third beta (Beta-3) when BotMaster Labs announced it on 28 May 2026. The last XEvil 6 build is 6.0.77, and it is the version you update from.

Which XAuth version do I need for XEvil 7?

XEvil 7 authorises through XAuth 3.0.3 or XRumer 23. XEvil 6 used XAuth 2.0. Download XAuth from your BotMaster Labs account and run it on the same server as XEvil.

Does XEvil solve hCaptcha?

Only partly. BotMaster Labs stopped hCaptcha support in December 2024. An hCaptcha module returned in the XEvil 7 betas for 3×3 image tasks only, as a paid subscription. Test it on your own targets before relying on it.

Can XEvil use IPv6 proxies?

Yes, for reCAPTCHA v2. BotMaster Labs says reCAPTCHA v2 solving works on regular IPv4 and IPv6 proxies. For reCAPTCHA v3, where the score depends on proxy quality, it recommends residential proxies.
